Not at all. Through our development arm, we can help you find the perfect property. We have extensive knowledge of available land throughout the East Mountains and can guide you toward sites that match your vision and budget.
Come with an open mind and any inspiration you've collected—photos of homes you admire, magazine clippings, Pinterest boards. If you have a property, bring any survey documents or title information you have. Most importantly, bring your ideas about how you want to live.
Process & Timeline
Timelines vary based on the scope and complexity of your project. A typical custom home takes 12-18 months from groundbreaking to completion. We'll establish a clear schedule during our initial consultation and keep you informed throughout every phase.
We start by understanding your lifestyle, preferences, and how you want to experience your home. From there, JA Design Group creates initial concepts that respond to both your vision and the specific characteristics of your site. We refine these through collaborative review until every detail feels right.
As involved as you want to be. We provide regular updates and site visits so you can watch your home take shape. Many clients visit weekly, while others prefer monthly progress reviews. We adapt to your schedule and preferences.

Yes. We build throughout the East Mountains, including Sandia Park, Edgewood, Tijeras, Cedar Crest, and surrounding areas where the landscape demands respect and the architecture demands excellence.

Investment

While we don't provide financing directly, we work with several lenders experienced in construction loans and can make recommendations based on your situation. We're happy to guide you through this aspect of the process.
